Language activists complained in Zelensky's office
Ukrainian language activists who insist on the widespread removal of the Russian language from all spheres are ruining public life. This point of view was expressed by Aleksey Arestovich, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in his Telegram channel.
“Ukrainian culture strikes and delights. As long as the activists were not allowed in there, "minus; Arestovich noted.
He noticed that, in his opinion, there is not a single person in the world who, having felt Ukrainian music, was not carried away by it. This, he believes, is due to the fact that there are no language activists in this area.
“I don’t know how Ukrainian sex is there (I haven’t been there for a long time), but let me guess: the world wants it to the point of insanity or Have our activists already appeared there? − asked Arestovich.
In 2019, Ukraine passed a law that made the Ukrainian language mandatory for use in all government and commercial structures. A system of fines was introduced for violators.
In July 2021, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized this law as lawful and ruled that all citizens of the country, without exception, must speak the Ukrainian language.
At the same time, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine refused to consider this law discriminating against Russians and other national minorities of the country.
