Since debuting his side project in 2021, Ben Ruttner of The Knocks has evoked a charming nostalgia with his Holiday87 project. Today he's back with "Hold On," a captivating new single.
"Hold On" is a prime example of the prestige of Holiday87, whose 2020 track "Lost" was named one of EDM.com's best songs of 2020. The track's endearing sample is joined by crisp percussion and gentle synths, combining to form what feels like an ode to the 90s. Ruttner's masterful and wistful production stuns throughout the record, making it one of his most memorable yet.
"Hold On" marks Holiday87's second single of the year following the release of his collaboration with Gilligan Moss, "New Best Friend." While his releases are few and far between, those we've received thus far have been undeniable gems.
