Gorgon City are back for their fourth studio album, Salvation, a 10-track journey that takes the U.K. duo back to their roots through the soothing and uplifting sounds of melodic house. According to an Instagram post, the album has been two years in the making.
Two years in the making, the album begins with an elegant and enticing arpeggio in "Wreckage" (with Julia Church) before "Voodoo" brings the groove with infectious, danceable beats. Meanwhile, "Pose," a collaboration with NEZ, combines high-energy drums with cheeky vocals.
"Lost & Found" is a euphoric, carefree house track with a thumping bassline and soothing vocals. “City of Angels” and “Remember the Days” feature the vocals of Jelani Blackman and Selah Sol, respectively, taking us to a rapturous headspace where dreamlike soundscapes float. The album then wraps on a bittersweet note with the entrancing, UKG-influenced cut, “Should’ve Known."
