Monkey Festival in Thailand

The traditional Monkey Festival was held in Thailand. In the Thai city of Lopburi, on the ruins of an ancient Khmer temple, the festival is held annually in gratitude to local monkeys for their role in attracting tourists to the country. The 2021 festival cost the organizers 3 thousand dollars, hundreds of local cynomolgus monkeys were fed two tons of fruits and vegetables.

Lopburi & nbsp; located 150 km northeast of Bangkok. The city is widely known as a mass habitat for cynomolgus macaques. In 2020, the primate population numbered 8.4 thousand individuals with a city population of about 50 thousand people.
