President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which FSB servicemen involved in “repelling an armed invasion” to the territory of Russia during a special operation in Ukraine, will receive the status of a combat veteran. The decree is published on the portal of legal information.

FSB officers who were injured, contused, mutilated or ill while serving on the Russian-Ukrainian border in areas of special operation will be given the status of a combat invalid.

Veterans and disabled combatants are entitled to social support measures. In particular, they can claim compensation for the costs of contributions to major repairs, payment for housing, free medical care in hospitals and service without a queue in various organizations.

At the end of March, Putin assigned the status of a combat veteran to the participants of the special operation in Ukraine. Prior to this, only participants in military operations in Afghanistan, Chechnya and Syria had such a status.

Veterans of hostilities will also be recognized as civilians involved in a special operation in Ukraine. Putin signed a decree on this in July. We are talking about the civilian personnel of the armed forces, repair crews, doctors and other professionals working in the war zone.
